There's no point sitting you with someone you'd never fancy

so we don't. here is the whole of it.

It has to work both ways You only meet someone whose preferences match yours, and yours theirs. Both directions, every time. One-sided never happens.

Ages stay close Under 21, within three years. 21 to 24, within five. 25 to 39, within seven. Forties, within ten. Fifties, within fifteen. Sixty and over, within seventeen. If you two have different limits, the tighter one wins. On a shared table of six, nobody aged 18 to 24 is ever seated with anyone over 30.

Why we started this

Most people arrive at university and are told it will be the best years of their life. Then they spend a lot of evenings in their room, scrolling, while assuming everyone else is out having those years without them. Almost nobody says this out loud, because admitting you are lonely at nineteen feels like admitting you have failed at something everyone else finds easy. It is not a small group. It is closer to a quarter of the people in the lecture theatre, and they all think it's just them.

The apps that are supposed to help are the worst of it. They are paid to keep you looking, not to get you out. A match that turns into a real evening is, to them, a customer lost. So you get endless matching, endless chatting, and a Friday night that somehow still ends with you on your own.

So Blind Fate does the opposite. One button, and you are out the same day. No photos to judge, no swiping, no three weeks of small talk that goes nowhere. The only way this works is if you genuinely go, which is a rare thing for an app to want.

No photos means you meet as people, not pictures. You still get words: a name, what they study, a few lines they wrote themselves. You know something before you sit down. What you don't get is a face to rank in half a second, and an hour of doing that from your bed instead of going anywhere.

If it's quiet, we tell you straight up that night, instead of leaving you refreshing a screen and drawing your own conclusions about yourself. An app that only ever gives you good news is an app that's managing you.

That is also why it is free forever: no premium tier, no paywall, nothing to unlock. We do not run ads and we do not sell your data. Everyone passes a real 18+ ID check before their first table, and you always meet in a public venue that is expecting you. A cafe with empty tables on a Tuesday. A student with nothing on. Put the two together and that's the business.
