Child Safety Standards

Last updated 18 August 2026

Blind Fate is for adults only. Every person passes a government-document and liveness check confirming they are over 18 before they can do anything in the app. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and for any sexualisation of a child, anywhere in or around this service.

1. Who we are

Blind Fate is operated by BLIND FATE APP LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (number 17377337), registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration ZC213736). We are based in Exeter, United Kingdom.

These standards sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms, and they reflect our internal safeguarding and incident policy.

2. What is prohibited

The following are banned outright, with no warning step and no second chance:

Breaking any of these results in immediate and permanent removal, evidence preservation, and a report to the police.

3. How the product itself is built to prevent it

Most of our protection is structural rather than reactive. It is not possible to do some of these things in Blind Fate at all.

Measure What it means in practice
Verified 18+ only Every user passes a government-document and liveness check through our identity provider, Didit, before they can book anything. We receive only a pass or fail and an over-18 confirmation. Under-18s cannot use the service.
No images anywhere Blind Fate has no photographs at all. There is no profile picture, no photo sharing and no upload of any kind, in chat or elsewhere. There is therefore no route through which imagery, including CSAM, can be shared on this service.
Text-only chat, with links blocked Chat is plain text between two people who already have a table booked together. Links are rejected by our server, because moving someone onto an unverified platform is the first step in most grooming and scam attempts.
No public profiles or open discovery There is no public feed, no browsing of strangers and no way to search for a named person. Nobody can build an audience here.
Blocking that survives reinstalling A block works in both directions and is bound to the verified identity, not the account, so deleting the app and signing up again does not undo it.

4. How to report a child safety concern

In the app: every person you are matched with, and every chat, carries a report option. Reports go straight to our safeguarding lead and raise an alert immediately. You do not need to be the person affected in order to report.

By email, including if you do not use the app: write to blindfateapp@gmail.com. This address is monitored by our designated child safety contact, who can answer questions about our CSAE practices and compliance.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also report child sexual abuse or exploitation directly to the National Crime Agency's CEOP Safety Centre at ceop.police.uk, and report criminal imagery to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk. You never need our permission to do either.

5. What we do when we receive a report

6. Reporting to the authorities

We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the United Kingdom, and we report to the relevant regional and national authorities. In practice that means Devon and Cornwall Police and, where appropriate, the National Crime Agency and the relevant local authority safeguarding team.

Where there is an immediate risk to life, or a risk to a child, we contact the police directly and do not wait for consent. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and provide records on a lawful request.

7. Our designated contact

Our designated child safety contact can be reached at blindfateapp@gmail.com. This is a monitored address and the person behind it is able to discuss our practices and our compliance with child safety standards, including for Google Play and the Apple App Store.

8. Keeping this honest

These standards are reviewed at least annually, after any serious incident, and whenever we change the reporting or verification flow. If something described here stops being true of the product, this page is corrected the same day. We would rather publish a shorter list that is accurate than a longer one that is not.
