Blind Fate is operated by Blind Fate App Ltd, company number 17377337, registered in England and Wales at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. "We" and "us" means that company. "You" means you. By using Blind Fate you agree to these terms.
Blind Fate is strictly for adults. Before your first booking you complete an identity and age check. If you lie about your age we will close your account and we will not refund anything, though as the app is free there is nothing to refund.
If you believe someone under 18 is using Blind Fate, tell us immediately at blindfateapp@gmail.com.
We introduce people and arrange a table. That is all. We do not vet anyone's character, intentions or suitability. Passing an identity check confirms that a person is who they say they are and is over 18. It does not mean they are safe, kind, honest or a good date.
You are meeting a stranger. Use the same judgement you would use meeting any stranger, and more of it than you would with a friend of a friend.
When you accept a Fate, a real table is held and other real people are expecting you.
Do not: harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone; lie about who you are; use Blind Fate to sell, recruit or promote anything; share anyone else's private information; try to get around a block; or use the app if you are barred from similar services for harming someone.
Chat is text only. No photos, no links, no attachments, by design.
Break these and we may suspend or close your account without notice. For anything involving a risk to another person we will act first and discuss it afterwards.
One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
You can delete your account at any time. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data. Some records, in particular safety reports, are kept after deletion where that is necessary to protect other people.
Blind Fate is free to use and stays free. There is no subscription, no trial and no card required.
You pay for your own food and drinks. We book the table, not the bill. We charge venues a small flat fee for each guest who actually turns up; that has no effect on what you pay.
There is nothing to buy in the app. If we ever add a way to leave a tip, it will be voluntary, buy you nothing, and be non-refundable.
We provide the introduction and the booking. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, whether on a date or afterwards. We are not responsible for a venue's food, service, accessibility or for a booking a venue fails to honour, though we will always try to fix it.
We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that you will be matched on any given evening, or that you will enjoy anybody's company.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to £100. Blind Fate is free, so this is not us hiding behind small print you paid for. It is the honest ceiling for a free introduction and a table booking.
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Blind Fate after that means you accept the new version.
You can stop using Blind Fate whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we reasonably believe someone is at risk.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer this does not affect your statutory rights.
